High Quality Purple Garlic

The most vivid purple garlic in the world comes from the highlands of Peru, with White Lion Foods being the biggest processer. This unique variety of garlic has a deep purple colour on its outer skin, and its taste is very pungent, and spicy. It’s a staple in Peruvian cuisine and is recognised worldwide.

The story behind our purple garlic, Purple Fire, is unique, as it can only grow 3500 metres above sea level, in volcanic soil, near glacier waters. Growing Purple Fire is very challenging, as it is cultivated on small areas of steep land located at the top of hills. This makes it extremely difficult to grow and harvest. To overcome these natural environmental challenges White Lion Foods uses a winch to harvest the garlic bulbs from the top of the mountain to the flatter terrain below. All of these challenges make Purple Fire Garlic availability very precious.

Red Garlic

Product description: Some call it white, others call it purple…we call it Red Garlic! The outer skin is, indeed, mostly white, with tints of purple, but when peeled, it has a vibrant red-purple skin covering the cloves. In Spain, they call this variety Purple Garlic, but this variety, when next to our true purple garlic offering, does not do it justice! Red garlic has a strong demand in the European market, as it resembles the offer from Spain.
